Welcome to Kirk Middle School!

George V. Kirk Middle School, formerly known as Ogletown Middle School, was built in 1957.  It has had a long and honorable history of producing some of the finest men and women in the world.  The school is named for Dr. George V. Kirk, a distinguished Superintendent of Schools in the Newark and New Castle County areas of Delaware.

Instructional Focus

All Kirk Middle School students will be able to READ, COMPREHEND and ANALYZE information; and express their level of understanding as measured by the classroom assessments, district assessments, and state assessments.

Who We Serve

Kirk Middle serves a diverse student and staff population and is proud to be part of the culturally-rich Newark, Delaware. Approximately 40% of our students are African-American, 22% Hispanic or Latino, 20% White, 10% Asian-American, 6% Multi-Racial, <1%Native American and <1% Native Hawaiian / Pacific Islander. 

Virtual Education

Kirk Middle School offers a fully online and teacher-directed virtual learning program that caters to students in Grades 6-8.

At Kirk, we understand the importance of offering engaging and tailored learning experiences on a virtual platform. That's why our dedicated CSDVA teachers are trained in online instruction, ensuring that every student receives the support and guidance they need to succeed.
